GET IN TOUCH
I’m Kit Mitchell (she/her), an integrative counsellor and therapeutic coach based in Penwortham, Lancashire. I’m fully insured, qualified and an accredited registrant member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
I’m queer, neurodivergent, and no stranger to unpicking the weight of trauma, questioning systems, figuring out new ways of being, especially where hope and exhaustion mix. That lived experience shapes how I show up. I'm warm and curious and deeply uninterested in making you squeeze into neat boxes.
Before stepping into therapeutic work, I'd spent over two decades supporting senior leaders in law and education. Spaces where burnout, disconnect, and moral conflict run wild.
I’ve lived it: the loneliness of 'just coping', the fallout of pushing against the status quo, and the heartbreak of being in 'supportive' systems that didn’t actually hold you. Those experiences sharpened my advocacy, deepened my compassion, and taught me how to be a steady presence in uncertain spaces.
I’m also a lifelong learner (read: proud nerd) who loves exploring new and forgotten ways of being. I spend a lot of time reading, reflecting, and learning from community wisdom: whether it’s about our brains and nervous systems, societal structures, ancestral practices, or the rhythms of the moon. I’m open to the spiritual and intuitive, always grounded in consent, care, and collaboration.
If you want to know more about how I move through the world, I share bits and pieces over on instagram and facebook.
Why this matters to me
A lot of this world is built around people looking ‘okay’, carrying on regardless, and fitting into narrow ideas of wellness. That can leave people unsure where to turn when they don’t feel that way.
This is not another space where you have to fit a mould. Here, you can bring your whole self, even if you don’t have the words for what you’re feeling yet.
Yes, I understand the theory. I’ve done, and continue to do, in-depth training. I take the ethics of this work seriously. But I also bring lived experience of not quite fitting in, questioning systems, and rebuilding after burnout. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I do commit to meeting you with steadiness and compassion.
I’m on your team, and I take that seriously.
